Responsible for Metallurgical and Calibration Laboratories support to the business units and ensuring quality of products shipped for the respective product cells assigned.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Provide supervisory and technical oversight of Metallurgical and Calibration Laboratories.
2. Responsible for safe operation of laboratories.
3. Ensure training and competency of laboratory personnel to required standards.
4. Ensure the compliance of laboratory processes to regulatory, industry and GE standards.
5. Drive continual improvement of the laboratory in quality, operational effectiveness, productivity, and cost to support business metric improvements.
6. Monitor laboratories utilization and efficiency to ensure manpower optimization.
7. Manage and drive quality of responsible product cells assigned.
8. Engage with Operational and Engineering teams to facilitate and drive robust corrective actions to improve quality, reduce workmanship / rework losses.
9. Track and monitor quality metrics (Yield, Losses, Escapes), and perform trend analysis to identify systemic improvement quality opportunities.
10. Support review of technical data change, approval of process change and new product introduction.
11. Perform quality auditing as necessary.

Qualifications / Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Material Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent).
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in either calibration or metallurgy laboratory functions.
3. Candidate conversant with laboratory quality systems (ISO17025) has added advantage.
4. Knowledge of aviation MRO 145 standards has added advantage.
