QA Engineer (Exp in Quality Assurance/Tampines)

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and enforce quality control plans (QCPs) specific to projects, outlining inspection points, testing requirements, and acceptance criteria.
2. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
3. Monitor the implementation of quality control measures at various stages of the piping project, from material selection to installation.
4. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of piping components to verify conformity with design specifications and quality standards.
5. Oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) processes, including radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, dye penetrant testing, and magnetic particle testing.
6. Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic tests on piping systems to ensure their structural integrity and leak-tightness.
7. Verify the suitability and quality of materials by conducting material receiving inspections and reviewing material certificates.
8. Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage or contamination.
9. Monitor and evaluate welding procedures, qualifications, and welder performance to ensure high-quality welds in piping systems.
10. Conduct visual inspections and coordinate radiographic examinations of welded joints to identify defects and deviations.
11. Maintain comprehensive records of all inspection and testing activities, including test results, inspection reports, and relevant documentation.
12. Generate detailed quality reports outlining findings, discrepancies, and recommended corrective actions.
13. Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams to address quality-related concerns and provide technical guidance.
14. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies regarding quality control matters.
15. Identify non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues, and lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
16. Track the resolution of non-conformities and ensure that corrective actions are effective.
17. Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations governing piping systems, such as ASME B31.3, API 570, and others.

Requirements:

1. Polytechnic diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering relevant certificate
2. Strong documentation skills
3. Knowledge of Welding Inspection (AWS or CSWIP).
4. Knowledge of Auditor certification - Experience with base build piping fabrication or hook-up module fabrication, welding inspections of structural and piping welding jobs including Non-Destructive testing.
5. Experience in piping line walk, and reinstatement inspections with a clear understanding of isometric drawings.
