The Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2024 to harness technology and foster innovation for more efficient, resilient, and inclusive financial ecosystems through global partnerships. GFTN organises convening forums, offers advisory services on innovation ecosystems, provides access to transformative digital platforms, and invests in technology startups with the potential for growth and positive social impact through its venture fund.

GFTN is hiring a Public Sector Engagement & Policy Manager who will serve as the key coordinator and liaison between GFTN and the global public sector. This role is responsible for cultivating and maintaining deep, mutually beneficial relationships with government officials, policymakers and regulators. The candidate will play an important role in ensuring that GFTN’s interests are effectively represented in the public sector, providing intelligence towards shaping our policy stance, and spearheading regulatory engagements that are aligned with our mission and goals.

As a key member of GFTN, you will contribute to our success through:

Public Sector Relationship Building and Engagement

  • Reporting to the Head of Public Policy, you will support the team on designing and implementing a government engagement strategy to establish and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with key global government officials, policymakers, regulators, and central banks.
  • Develop and manage a dedicated community of public sector stakeholders, ensuring active engagement with GFTN’s initiatives.
  • Assess and provide intelligence and insights on global FinTech regulatory trends and public-private sector initiatives across key areas, such as digital assets, CBDCs, tokenisation, ESG regulations, artificial intelligence, financial inclusion, regtech, and suptech
  • Provide expert advisory support across internal teams to ensure informed decision-making in these areas.
  • Demonstrate exceptional networking and communications skills to build and maintain high-impact relationships across the public sector.
  • Possess strong analytical capabilities to gather, assess, and disseminate insights on emerging policy and regulatory trends.

Programme Lead for Advocacy Initiatives

  • Spearhead the development of dynamic agendas for Insights Forum and other policy roundtables and sessions within GFTN’s global forums, ensuring relevance and impact.
  • Collaborate with GFTN’s policy partners and external stakeholders to design sessions that promote balanced policy frameworks – supporting innovation while maintaining stability and inclusion.
  • Work closely with project leads and cross-functional teams including content, marketing and customer success experts to integrate diverse perspectives and deliver compelling, well-communicated knowledge products.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to enhance the rigour and depth of GFTN’s policy research and insights.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, with at least five years of experience in public policy, government relations, or strategic partnerships within the financial services or FinTech sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing policy strategies and building influential networks with central banks, regulators, and public sector stakeholders.
  • Strong research, analytical, with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Deep understanding of FinTech innovations and the regulatory landscape, including emerging technologies and trends.
