Public Policy Director (SEZ/policy strategies)(ID: 665132)

We are seeking a Public Policy Director candidate to join our team and set up the newly established public policy function. In this role, the candidate will lead policy development and advocate best practice policies and regulations alongside PPP stakeholders to promote sustainable development and a business-friendly environment in the special economic zone (SEZ).

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Policy Development and Advocacy
2. Work closely with the PPP task force (including the Government) to draft enabling policies and regulations for the SEZ.
3. Develop frameworks for tax incentives, legal arbitration, risk management, and investor-friendly regulations tailored to the financial and tourism sectors.
4. Monitor project progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
5. Policy Analysis: Provide research-backed recommendations to steer task force and committee strategic direction to promote FDI and the zone’s sustainable development.
6. Lead industry forums across target markets to gather feedback and foster consensus.
7. Stakeholder Engagement: Manage, monitor, and guide policy initiatives under the PPP task force.
8. Develop meaningful partnerships with international organizations and private sectors to accelerate soft infrastructure development within the zone.
9. Build relationships with stakeholders (Government agencies, international organizations, private sector partners, etc.).
10. Capacity Building: Build and train an internal public policy team to front department objectives.

Requirements:

1. At least 7 years of experience in public sector or government/public strategy consulting roles, with a focus on developing and supporting policy strategies.
2. Proven track record in managing and designing policy frameworks, with the ability to engage with key stakeholders for implementation.
3. Project experience in SEZs, tourism, and financial sectors, particularly in emerging markets will be advantageous.
4. Frequent business travel is required.
