Manage and direct ship repair, construction and conversion projects.
Conduct and lead the daily VSCC meeting on hot-works and incompatible jobs onboard to ensure safety of personnel and property are not endangered.
Meet repairs / refit schedules by planning, monitoring projects' critical path, cost control and execution.
Develop good working relationships with customers and maintain teamwork showing high interests.
Solve daily conflicts at ground level by monitoring and coordinating sequential and incompatible jobs affecting the master schedule.
Closely liaise with classification societies, ship owners, owner specialist engineers, vessel crew, and ship agents to ensure successful completion of the project meeting or exceeding customers' expectations.
Meet commercial / naval contractual commitments and quality of repaired ship.
Capture additional works and raise work list and provide information to the Commercial Dept for more competitive pricing.
Requirements:
Degree/Diploma in Naval Architecture/Marine/Mechanical Engineering.
Min. 5 to 7 years experience in project management for ship repairs in a similar capacity from marine / heavy industries.
Possess SRM Certificate.
Experience in chairing VSCC meetings will be advantageous.
Able to make appropriate decisions and judgments, decisive and take proper actions.
Able to lead and manage ship repair, construction and conversion projects independently.
Willing to work late at times and possess leadership qualities.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Proficient in report writing.
