Project Engineer

As the Project Engineer for Wyeth Nutritionals Singapore, you will ensure design, implementation, and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, following the investment project charter, design specifications, and Nestlé standards. You will lead the governance routine for investment projects and support area engineers on Investment Submission management and Fixed Asset management, managing end-to-end investment project flow at the site from proposal preparation till handover to operation. The Project Engineer will also be managing facilities management.

A day in the life of...

Before starting the project design phase: Support the End to End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure it is strictly followed throughout the project.

During project design phase: Execute the basic design and then the detailed design based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, the Nestlé standards, local regulations, defined User Requirements Specifications, and Total Performance Management characteristics (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, and reliability), ensuring worker safety during both construction and the further operation of the plant.

During the project implementation phase: Implement the engineering side of the project (e.g., buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with defined timing, cost, quality, and User Requirements Specifications, ensuring safety is guaranteed on the whole project site and a vertical start-up is assured.

Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities while ensuring that Nestlé standards are applied. Promote the development of environment-friendly and sustainable solutions.

During the start-up phase of the project: Support the start-up manager and her/his team to assure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation have been finalized.

Support in preparing and distributing the project documentation of engineering, including the engineering part of the project final report, and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.

During the whole project life: Promote the development of environmental-friendly and sustainable solutions. Mobilize resources (internal & external).

What will make you successful

Bachelors’ Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing projects management in capital investment projects development and implementation in the food industry.

Determination of methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and/or equipment (SH&E).

Factory operations exposure (as required).
