We are looking for a Project Engineer (Welding & Gases) to join our company. The Welding & Gases Sub-solution team is seeking a Project Engineer to lead strategic initiatives aimed at expanding the product pipeline and driving future growth. This role is integral to the Product Management function, overseeing projects from initial concept to successful execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate stakeholder input and conduct data analysis during the project conceptualization phase.
- Define project scope and deliverables, and manage timelines, milestones, and resources.
- Coordinate with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Address project risks, maintain accurate documentation, and provide timely status updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Who you will report to:
This position reports to the Head of Product Management – Welding & Gases.
What you will be doing:
- Support the Head of Product Management in turning ideas from the offer development pipeline into successful product or service launches.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to engage stakeholders, conduct market analysis, and define project goals.
- Outline project scope, deliverables, and key stakeholders.
- Plan, execute, and complete projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve objectives.
- Coordinate with suppliers, partners, internal teams, and consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to track progress and maintain alignment.
- Visit suppliers/partners and attend customer trials onboard vessels when required.
- Identify and address potential risks or issues that could affect project delivery.
- Provide regular project updates to the Head of Product Management and Business Director for Welding & Gases.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and drawings throughout the project.
- Apply best practices and continuous improvement strategies to enhance project efficiency and outcomes.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read, design, and interpret engineering drawings, including proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Solid understanding of technical concepts with a strong technical foundation.
- Willingness to learn beyond core expertise and explore new ideas and industrial applications.
- Highly organized, independent, and capable of meeting deadlines with effective time management and prioritization.
- Self-motivated, ambitious, outgoing, and proactive.
- A proven team player who is open to new ideas and collaboration.
What we are looking for:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, technical studies, or business. Relevant experience can compensate for a lack of formal education.
- At least 2 years of experience in project management, specifically in developing new products or services.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong proficiency in English (both verbal and written), especially in a multicultural environment.
