Programme Executive, Learning Development & Partnerships

South Central Community Family Service Centre (SCC) provides support to the lower-income and vulnerable families in our community. While giving support to families who seek help in financial, social or relationship issues, we encourage community self-help and cooperation. At SCC we believe:

We are looking for passionate individuals committed to the cause of enabling socially disadvantaged low-income families and communities realise their aspirations of getting out of the poverty cycle, through an asset-based community development approach.

The Programme Executive would play an instrumental role in enabling an environment and culture of learning and development by working alongside children and families, mobilizing community as an enabler and facilitator for children to thrive and maximise their potential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Planning for and running the operations of weekly programmes through close coordination and collaboration with team, volunteers, community, and stakeholders in the areas of academic support, socio-emotional learning & development
  2. Facilitate individual and group sessions with children for socio-emotional learning/life-skills activities and school holiday activities and programmes
  3. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for holiday programmes and activities for children
  4. Planning and execution of quarterly milestone celebrations with children and their families
  5. Profile and understand the strengths, interests and needs of children within SCC universe and co-develop goals with children and families
  6. Coach and journey alongside children and families on their goals, based on their strengths, interests and requirements – recommend and execute interventions and/or referrals to relevant stakeholders through the Learning Compass
  7. Collaborate with social workers/community workers to outreach to families and communities for Education & Development initiatives
  8. Collaborate closely with Volunteer Management & Partnership in training of volunteers
  9. Work with SCC’s Research, Evaluation & Development team to develop and track the key metrics for the programme effectiveness of the various educational programs
  10. Perform specific projects and duties assigned by Assistant Manager/Manager, Learning Development & Partnerships, in line with organisational and department strategy.

This role may entail onsite work on 1-2 weekday evenings or weekend mornings. We practise flexibility in working hours to ensure team members have the time off and rest that they are entitled to.

Requirements:

  1. Passionate about the cause of transforming children’s life outcomes holistically, with a strength-based and community-centric outlook and strong belief in child’s and family’s potential and strengths (asset-based)
  2. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills: able to build strong rapport with children, families, community and work collaboratively across teams
  3. Those with educational qualifications and professional trainings related to education and/or child and youth development (e.g. MOE-related trainings or those with psychology/sociology/social work background) are highly preferred.
  4. Adaptable and Flexibility: able to adapt and curate learning support to the differentiated skills of children, tap and build on their strengths, their families and the community in a nurturing manner.
  5. Fresh grads are welcome to apply
  6. Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with children
  7. Confident and comfortable with running operations for learning & development independently, with groups of children and multiple stakeholders
  8. Highly adaptable and able to operate effectively and independently in a dynamic and fluid work environment
  9. Self-driven with a keen and astute eye for programme effectiveness
  10. Strong project management skills: Detail-oriented, with strong planning and administrative skills and the ability to manage deadlines, and responsibilities.
