SIT is the first university in Singapore that offers a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate allied health degree programmes. They form an integral part to ensuring continuity in supply of allied health professionals in response to the growing demands of healthcare professionals in Singapore. These programmes include Diagnostic Radiography, Dietetics and Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Radiation Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. In addition, SIT offers a pre-registration and a post-registration nursing programmes. “Learning by doing” is the foundation of our applied learning pedagogy. Right from the first year of study, students gain up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills through opportunities such as service learning and practical sessions in simulated settings.
The Health and Social Sciences Cluster consists of full-time faculty with deep prior clinical experience, joint appointment faculty who are senior clinicians, and adjunct and associate faculty, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields. The cluster strongly believes in interprofessional education and interprofessional practice. Faculty collaborate closely across healthcare disciplines and often work with SIT colleagues from other academic clusters to drive impactful outcomes in the community.
POSITION SUMMARY
SIT’s strategic translational research programme on Community Health Transformation is aligned with Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH)’s ‘Three Beyonds’: ‘beyond healthcare to health’; ‘beyond hospital to community’; ‘beyond quality to value’. This focus area encompasses research efforts ranging from healthcare engineering and innovation to digital health and community health and social care research, covering areas such as neurorehabilitation, frailty, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, psychosocial rehabilitation etc.
