Production Supervisor
GENERAL OVERVIEW
The incumbent shall demonstrate knowledge and ability to perform safe and reliable gas supply and jetty operations at the LNG Terminal as a reasonable and prudent operator. He/She shall have in-depth knowledge and experience of, and able to demonstrate effective application of, HSSE regulations and best industry practices. He/She shall have strong technical knowledge and experience on process and DCS including, but not limited to, process hydraulics, thermodynamics, field troubleshooting, logics, and safety bypass. The incumbent shall also possess functional and behavioral competencies with strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead a team and collaborate with multi-functional, multi-discipline stakeholders; i.e. HSSE team, marine team, maintenance team, subject-matter experts (engineers), commercial team, LNG vessel, authorities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:
- Conduct daily production toolbox meeting, review shift activities, prioritize and assign resources to deliver effective and efficient work execution.
- Review and issue permit to work, i.e. confined space entry, working at height, hot work, lifting, radiation, diligently to ensure work to be performed is safe and compliant to HSSE requirement and safe work procedures.
- Perform terminal operations, i.e. deliver gas supply according to nomination, LNG unloading/reloading jetty operations, operating of equipment, unloading/receiving of chemicals, equipment switching/testing, according to standard operating procedures to ensure no impact to safety and gas supply reliability.
- Perform inspection and monitoring of equipment and process systems to ensure parameters are within operating range. Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions promptly and take necessary corrective action. Evaluate faults and raise work orders promptly for maintenance work.
- Prepare equipment and process systems, i.e. clearing process and purging, de-energizing, lock out and tag out, for safe handover for maintenance work according to safe work procedure requirements.
- Perform troubleshooting and take the lead to respond to abnormal operating scenarios, incidents or emergencies effectively according to response plans and industry protocols.
- Perform basic maintenance i.e., strainer cleaning, flange make up, gas cylinder replacement.
- Compile, review and submit logs, Shift Report, Operations Abnormality Report, Incident Report, Control of Safety Device Bypass.
- Develop and review standard operating procedures to ensure effective and efficient work execution with no impact to safety and gas supply reliability.
- Develop and review risk assessments comprehensively to ensure adequate and effective risk mitigation are applied for safe work execution.
- Perform incident investigation and root cause analysis effectively as required.
- Participate in internal/external audits as required.
- Manage and account for team members’ operations discipline, performance and development by conducting training, coaching, and performance review.
- Undertake project related role when assigned, rotation between shift and day work.
- The incumbent shall be part of the company’s Emergency Response Team (CERT) and shall assume the responsibilities of liaison with local authorities and government agencies during emergencies. He/She shall manage emergency response based on established procedures and plans and perform any assigned roles and responsibilities such as but not limited to:
- Respond to terminal emergency situations as Site Incident Commander (SIC).
- Participate in prevention and combat of hazardous situations such as loss of primary containment, oil spills and other forms of pollution and situations dangerous to life and property.
- Perform routine safety checks on all safety equipment such as safety showers, eye wash, SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), firefighting equipment etc. to ensure readiness and availability as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- NITEC/NTC in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Process Technology. Candidates with a Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Process Technology will be advantageous.
- Minimum 15 years' experience in process operations function with a minimum 7 years' experience in supervisory role.
- LNG experience or familiarity with cryogenic process in the ethylene, ammonia, air separation or natural gas processing industries will be advantageous.
- Jetty operations experience an advantage.
