Production Planner

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. General

The Planner is responsible for sales order acknowledgement, issuing purchase orders, scheduling production plans according to demand, and invoicing for shipment. Develop production plans according to available capacity and scheduling of work orders per customer requirements (Assemble to order). Analyze supply and demand at the family and master schedule level to determine out-of-balance conditions and recommend alternatives to superiors. Experience in warehousing management and operations is necessary.

2. Responsibilities

1. Responsible for creating and maintaining the master schedule for material and capacity planning, balancing supply and demand for a product family.
2. Create purchase orders and acknowledge sales orders from supply units.
3. Coordinate with suppliers, supply units, production, and logistics to ensure delivery schedules are met.
4. Expedite material from suppliers and follow up with them on discrepancies and claims.
5. Review order points, safety stock, and demand, and maintain components at optimized levels to minimize slow, non-mover obsolescence.
6. Participate in key performance indicators on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
7. Support ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
8. Drive warehouse improvements with database analysis and best practice recommendations.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Purchase and Material Management or Business Administration.
• At least 2-3 years of materials management/supply chain experience.
• Experience in SAP/MRP application is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
• Hands-on person and used to working in a smaller organization.
• Good communication skills and relationships with all levels of staff, with a positive attitude.
• Additional experience in 3PL logistics and purchasing/vendor management preferred.
