PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for following up, expediting, and placing orders on mechanical/non-mechanical parts locally and overseas. Under the guidance of Senior Procurement, the specialist manages open orders, future forecasts, and ensures uninterrupted supplies of materials. They perform vendor performance reviews focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, while fostering close relationships with vendors and partners to communicate value to the company.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Manage Suppliers: The Procurement Specialist manages all open POs and future demand forecasts from existing suppliers and sub-contractors, collaborating with Senior Procurement, production personnel/planners, and other value streams. They identify and respond to material requirements, delivery schedules, negotiate pricing, shipment terms, and oversee timely delivery of materials to fulfill customer orders.
  2. Develop and Improve the Supply Chain: The Procurement Specialist identifies and orders required materials, negotiates to improve delivery dates, competitive pricing, payment terms, and incoterms, while overseeing timely delivery. They perform supplier performance reviews with guidance from Senior Procurement.
  3. Coordinate and Support Project Planning Teams: The Procurement Specialist works closely with planning and warehouse teams, guided by Senior Procurement, Master Planner, and Inventory Controller, to support operations and job schedules. They run open order and MRP reports to ensure timely delivery of parts and alignment of new POs, leading discussions with suppliers to ensure timely responses that deliver results to customers.
  4. Maintain Inventory: The Procurement Specialist liaises with Sales, Inventory Controller, and Planning to ensure demand and supply are balanced. They identify and order required materials, negotiate to improve delivery dates, and work with buyers and warehouse teams to maintain inventory and the inflow of raw materials and components, assessing raw materials and bought-out parts against current orders and forecast demands.

QUALIFICATION GUIDE

  1. Education: Graduated from any Engineering or Supply Chain program.
  2. Communication: Well-versed in English.
  3. Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in any supply chain department/division. Fresh graduates from supply chain and engineering courses are also accepted.
