Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct Operating Supplies & Consumables procurement activities under the direction of the immediate team lead.
  • Maintain and adhere to the company's purchasing policy and procedures, ensuring that all purchases meet regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, review, and propose new or improved administrative processes and procedures to drive ongoing improvements.
  • Develop comprehensive commodity/category strategies that document end-to-end sourcing approaches, solution development, supplier selection, cost performance, quality performance, and logistics solutions with clear roadmaps and technical evaluation on an annual basis.
  • Excel in supplier negotiations using various approaches to achieve the best value from each deal, utilizing market tests, long-term agreements, cost modeling, and predictive analytics.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to ensure best-in-class pricing, emphasizing total cost of ownership and returns on investments in every deal.
  • Summarize sourcing recommendations effectively and convince stakeholders to support recommended sourcing decisions in a clear and concise manner.
  • Engage in ongoing annual business reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve operations, cost efficiencies, and meet or exceed contractual service levels.
  • Facilitate purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure prompt shipments and delivery, maintaining appropriate service levels.
  • Interface independently with stakeholders and user departments, providing sound advice and recommendations for timely decision-making.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, integrity, respect, trust, commitment to innovation, and effective time management skills.
  • Perform any other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned.


Job Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant working experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of procurement experience for key categories in the hotel industry, primarily in operating supplies.

Other Prerequisites

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and complete multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, quality work, strategic mindset, and good analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Resourceful, organized, results-oriented, with excellent negotiation and prioritization skills.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to build rapport at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively manage stakeholders, resolve issues, and provide practical advice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills focused on end-user needs and effective interaction with all business users.
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba, Docusign, Service-Now platform, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
  • Ability to balance short-term tactical roles with long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Perform complex analysis, develop long-term category plans, streamline operational procedures, and present updates to senior management.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management, cost management, PR/PO processes, RFP/RFI/RFQ procedures, and contract management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, often stressful environment with tight timelines and regulatory compliance requirements.
