Job description

Benefits Summary:

  • Procurement Manager
  • Permanent role
  • Basic up to $6,000 + AWS + VB
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
  • Location: Jurong West

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly assess cost-saving opportunities and ensure that pricing for goods aligns with current market rates, is efficiently sourced, and procured to maximize value for the business.
  • Lead accurate demand forecasting in collaboration with sales and marketing by monitoring and communicating forecasts, changes, inventory estimates, supply conditions, business risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze sales trends and influencing factors to incorporate insights into forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Manage spending effectively and promote a culture of long-term savings in procurement costs.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers for food and beverage raw materials, ingredients, and packaging to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Team to develop and implement strategic initiatives that support the business’s growth and profitability goals.
  • Coach the team to develop the skills necessary for long-term business and individual success.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert, developing policies and procedures related to procurement and planning.
  • Oversee the purchasing system, Costpoint, and provide strategic direction on procurement actions, approval workflows, thresholds, and tracking of Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders.
  • Work with the Finance team to ensure that procurement management aligns with corporate standards.
  • Stay informed about Import/Export regulations and ensure compliance, including coaching and training staff on these regulations.

Additional Information:

  • Degree or Diploma in Purchasing/Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in purchasing, ideally within the FMCG sector, with a preference for food sourcing/purchasing.
  • Experience in overseas food importation, particularly in freight cost management, MOQ negotiation, and inventory control. Experience in meat and cheese imports is considered advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SAP software, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and Excel.
  • Proven track record of managing significant costs of goods with a strong motivation to deliver cost savings.
