Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing all activities related to the purchases of the products needed by the company at the best possible cost.
  2. Oversee and ensure the company stays in control of its inventory needs and to ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.
  3. Lead procurement activities related to Country Business Operations (Direct/Indirect).
  4. Negotiate and purchase products/goods at the most competitive price, and value and delivered on time.
  5. Actively sourcing, benchmarking & negotiating to determine the lowest cost vs quality – for innovation, and alternatives.
  6. Responsible for timely issuance of Purchase Orders in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, and adhering to the authority matrix set up by Finance.
  7. Continually improve the purchasing/procurement procedures and drive down external spending.
  8. Ensure a well-maintained procurement database either through our system or manual records/documentation.
  9. Utilize system, data, and technology to identify cost savings and monitor spend analysis.
  10. Build strong working relationships with both internal and external suppliers.
  11. Ability to continually identify new suppliers, agree on terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structure, volume rebates, or cost reduction.
  12. Evaluate prospective suppliers according to the company’s expected quality and commercial standards.
  13. Ensure regulatory and compliance standards are adhered to and ensure appropriate approval is in place for products delivered to Singapore.
  14. Manage product quality complaints.
  15. Plan, organize, and maintain the fleet’s activities.
  16. Prepare reports/data of procurement from time to time, as may be required by the country or Regional.
  17. Meeting Annual Cost Savings KPI and responsible to report cost savings initiatives via BTS system.
  18. Any other tasks as assigned by Senior Management.

Inventory Management activities would cover some or all of the following:

  1. Replenishment Lead time & On-time replenishment of inventory to business.
  2. Responsible for the total carrying cost of Inventory.
  3. Physical inventory, stock accuracy & minimized stock variance.
  4. Inventory Forecasting – in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  5. Maintain optimal inventory level to ensure timely availability of products.
  6. Participate in Monthly Stock Take.
  7. Review Stock Issuance usage and report any movement of concern.

  1. Hands-on knowledge of procurement procedures and best practices.

  3. Proficiency to supervise, lead and manage effectively staff members to deliver results.
  4. Demonstrate mature judgment, trust, and open communication; ability to ensure effective teamwork, collaborative behavior, and team spirit.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, for example, executives, management, and individual contributors.
  6. Excellent negotiation skills and proven record in ability to drive cost savings initiatives and deliver the best cost at the best value.
  7. Strong analytical skills with the ability to make projections for future expenses.
  8. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  9. Proficiency to operate independently.

Qualifications:

  1. Tertiary qualifications (or its equivalent) in the following fields Procurement, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related field.
  2. At least min. 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery and management of procurement services.
  3. +3 years experience in managing a team in a sub-functional environment.
  4. Experience in using Inventory Management System.
  5. Proficient in the use of computer applications and systems (eg Windows/ChromeBook).

Working Hours: 5 day work week: 8.30am to 5.45pm
