Procurement Engineer (Up to $4400 / 5 days / Tuas)

Job Title: Procurement Engineer (ID5065)
Location: Tuas
Working Hours: Mon to Fri 8.30am – 5.15pm
Salary: $2400 to $4400

Job Description:

1. Source and identify suppliers for direct/indirect materials/services to expand supplier base and for new project/production needs.
2. Obtain quotes from new sources to provide costing information and cost reduction.
3. Lead in conducting periodic price negotiation with suppliers to ensure competency in cost for materials/services.
4. Be part of team to conduct supplier qualification audit as well as parts qualification to ensure suppliers can meet company needs.
5. Qualify suppliers once suppliers are selected in order to add suppliers into the Approved Vendor List.
6. Conduct supplier performance review on a regular basis to manage supplier qualification and updates on supplier capabilities.
7. Maintain standard operating procedures applicable to the Procurement department to ensure work flow process are consistent.
8. Develop and negotiate favorable supply agreement with suppliers.
9. Work with other departments and suppliers to develop appropriate supply chain model to ensure assurance of supplies with minimal inventory holdings.
10. Work with other departments like Engineering/Warehouse to ascertain quality standards of items supplied and establish Quality plan.
11. Provide periodic quotation template to Sales department for standard products.
12. Provide quotation to Sales department based on scope of supplies required by Customers.
13. Any other task/project assigned by management.

Requirement:

1. Fresh graduate in Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years relevant experience.
2. Diploma holders at least 2 years exposure in components sourcing and fabrication parts.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
