Job Description

The Procurement Assistant Manager/Manager shall report to the General Manager and is responsible for the Procurement function which entails Purchasing & Buying, Strategic Sourcing, and Supplier Performance. The Procurement Manager shall collaborate with stakeholders to:

  1. Align the Procurement function so that Purchasing & Buying strives to not only meet but exceed the needs of the ongoing business.
  2. Accelerate the Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management process to meet New Product launch plans, acting as a strategic enabler of business growth.
  3. Develop and implement ongoing Procurement Strategies and policies.

Job Requirements

  1. Engage and work with multiple stakeholders across functions to ascertain business needs and identify risks and issues.
  2. Lead in procurement and contract negotiations.
  3. Proactively source, select, and negotiate third-party services and suppliers according to the organizational requirements and expectations.
  4. Manage supplier selection and build ongoing supplier relationships.
  5. Optimize procurement processes.
  6. Institute a good vendor management system to review vendors.
  7. Develop and implement procurement strategies and ensure compliance with procurement policies and SOPs.
  8. Responsible for the effective management and control of all procurement activities.
  9. Ensure good and efficient support is provided by the procurement team for the different brands’ operations and purchasing requirements.
  10. Periodically benchmark commodity data and monitor prices by product and vendor to ensure competitiveness.
  11. Work closely with suppliers, key stakeholders, and functional team members to ensure uninterrupted supplies of materials and services.
  12. Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Diploma or Degree in Business or Engineering with at least 5 years’ relevant purchasing experience.
  2. Proven experience in development & management of procurement systems.
  3. Good stakeholder management skills.
  4. Possesses leadership qualities to manage a team.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Good team player.
  7. Strong negotiation skills.
  8. Proficiency in MS Office.
