Process Technician

Responsibilities:

1. Perform material receiving, staging, material movement, sampling, charging operation and loading of finished goods per SOP.
2. Perform tank gauging, drums and packaging count as part of daily inventory movement tracking and month-end inventory count.
3. Monitor and control process variables of batch processes via PLC and on-site instruments per SOP to ensure quality and to operate plant in a safe and efficient manner. Respond to process alarms, upsets or abnormal process conditions according to established practices or / and procedures.
4. Perform laboratory tests on routine and non-routine samples.
5. Perform basic maintenance tasks of certain equipment such as replacing filters, connecting hoses, breaking flanges and cleaning of equipment.
6. Perform required isolations, flushing and Lock-out, Tag-out (LOTO) of equipment before handing over to other departments.
7. Perform routine tasks such as entry of production data and any other necessary records / logs, plant patrolling and maintaining proper housekeeping of work area.
8. Communicate effectively with colleagues including other units and during handing over of shift duties to incoming shift.
9. Responsible for issuing of Permit-to-Work (PTW) and ensure work activities are carried out safely on site.
10. Participate as member of Emergency Response Team in areas such as firefighting, rescue and loss of containment.

Requirements:

1. Good mathematical skills.
2. Basic understanding of chemistry concepts.
3. Possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
4. Able to converse, read and write in English.
5. Able to work long hours in an outdoor and noisy environment in various weather conditions.
6. Able to perform manual handling of heavy loads (up to 25kg).
7. Able to do extensive walking, climb stairs and ladders and work at height for extended periods of time.
8. Able to perform 12hr shift work and on-call duties to provide coverage in unforeseen circumstances.
