Process Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform routine operations, attend toolbox meetings, and ensure all the information regarding the status of each operation under his control is properly communicated and documented in patrol log and/or handover log sheets.
• Support shift operation activities when in demand (such as shift manpower shortage or extra manning requirement during special operational periods).
• Strictly follow documented procedures (e.g., Standard Operating Procedure - SOP, EHS regulations, Check sheet, risk assessment) to ensure safe and stable operation in the plant.
• Record all information in documented records (e.g., log-sheet or checksheets) as required and be involved in process trouble-shooting, investigations, and abnormality reports.
• Ensure checksheets and workflow sheets are completely filled out at each step, with final completion confirmed by a supervisor.
• Provide input and/or prepare drafts of revised manufacturing SOP or checksheets.
• Promptly report any near misses, deviations, or incidents to the supervisor, directly or through the Risk Reporting & Improvement Proposal system.
• Maintain good housekeeping conditions at all times, return all tools/items to designated places, and enforce similar standards to contractors. Ensure tools/items are fully accounted for during handover/takeover according to quantity and condition specified.
• Assist the supervisor in collecting data and samples to facilitate troubleshooting or improvement efforts, support implementation of new/revised procedures, and check compliance with the procedures. Inform the direct supervisor if any abnormality is detected.
• Monitor stores and tools managed by the day team to ensure sufficient stores and tools are in good working condition.
• Provide administrative support to production department members in purchasing consumable items. Assist the operation team in sourcing new operational tools and maintaining inventory.
• Participate in ASDM activities, including procedure preparation, blind allocation, and critical task coordination.
• Manage the Car Seal program to ensure process valves are locked at defined positions for safety credit. In parallel, control and manage the NO/NC program and report status to the superior.
• Ensure quality control of products under his control, including prevention of foreign material contamination.
• Perform non-regular work when an abnormal condition is detected; stop operation and inform the supervisor immediately.
• Support actual NRW, in parallel to shift operation. Join toolbox meetings, understand, and take effective measures to mitigate and manage the risk during NRW execution.
• Conduct proper work closure, including normalizing the process as per plan and carrying out housekeeping at the workplace.
• Participate in the CERT team/organization when appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team.
• Participate in CERT training, drills, and audits defined by the EHS department. In an emergency situation, follow the steps established in the emergency response plan, performing assigned roles such as fire warden, first aider, or rescuer.
• Involve in Production department committee as shift representative, providing feedback to the committee and assisting in implementing action items.
• Train and guide new day technicians during on-the-job training, adhere to HR policies, and perform overtime duties pre-arranged with the supervisor.
• Participate in overtime work or emergency call-out due to urgent manpower needs in the production department.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Nitec in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
• Possess basic knowledge of chemical processing with working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001, and SS506 part 3.
• Proficient in using computing software MS Word and MS Excel.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
