At Amazon, we’re building a world-class last mile operation, significantly complemented by Amazon Flex. Amazon Flex crowdsources independent contractors – called Delivery Partners (DPs) – to coordinate deliveries to our customers. With Amazon Flex, individuals can now be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. Amazon Flex is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced systems, allowing partners to sign in, grab an offer for a time, check out a map of the location, and more.

The Flex Singapore team is looking for a dynamic Process Improvement Intern to join us and help improve the DP experience. This role will particularly suit someone with the ability to work independently, be data-oriented, and have strong analytical and project management capabilities. To be successful, you must also have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as you will work with cross-functional teams to drive problem identification and resolution.

Key job responsibilities

• Report and analyze daily and weekly business performance metrics.
• Work with station management and other stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve Flex business for our DPs and customers.
• Retrieve and analyze data to identify trends and provide insights to better understand our DP preferences.
• Use data and analyze feedback to form the business case for step changes to improve DP experience, remove DP pain points to ultimately increase DP engagement and satisfaction.

A day in the life

The Process Improvement intern will help us answer questions like: how do you improve the experience of thousands of DPs through program interventions? You will be at the forefront of making Amazon’s delivery network better – which means improving safety, productivity, and quality. Your role will require you to go deep into our data to root cause misses to goals or to identify future improvement opportunities and develop plans with operational and technology teams to fix those issues for the short and long term.

You will report out business performance metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly level, highlight the key changes made, and opportunities that lie ahead, and leverage your interpersonal skills to receive buy-in and support to deliver those changes. You will play an active part in our long-term planning of the program by formulating business cases for new programs and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• Penultimate year student working towards a Bachelor’s degree.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship from January to June 2025.
• Expected graduation from July 2025 onwards.
• Candidates must be able to legally work in Singapore.
• Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and basic SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Self-motivated to move quickly and decisively on tasks.
• Data-driven and comfortable working on data analyst tasks.
• Proven analytical thinking with a bias to use data in decision-making and prioritization.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Ability to perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights, propose and drive solutions.
• Knowledge in basic statistics, simulation (Monte Carlo), and linear optimization models.
