Process Engineer (Chemical / Jurong Island) *AWS+VB+ALLOWANCES*

Responsibilities:

• Develop and propose process improvement ideas aimed at enhancing process safety, product quality, reducing energy usage, increasing productivity, and lowering costs.
• Execute process improvement ideas through the Management of Change (MOC) system or other non-standard work systems.
• Plan, organize, and manage new grade trial runs in collaboration with the R&D and Operations teams. Oversee the trial runs and conduct evaluations.
• Assess process performance and key parameters regularly or from a long-term perspective to identify potential risks that could lead to plant instability, safety, or quality issues.
• Address process-related problems, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions as part of process engineering or based on specific requests.
• Actively engage in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study), FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), and Control Plan studies to improve safety and quality as a process engineering function.
• Manage process-related capital expenditure projects from initial design through to Front End Engineering Design (FEED). Lead projects as assigned by the department manager.
• Investigate and implement Industry 4.0 technologies to drive productivity and process improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the company’s Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) programs and support their enhancement and promotion.
• Work with various departments to maintain and improve management systems including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, SS651, IATF16949, Safety Case Regime, Energy Management System, and ISCC+.
• Conduct studies related to NRW (Non-Revenue Water), MOC, and other department-specific requests, providing analytical support and recommendations.
• Ensure and uphold a safe and healthy work environment in all process engineering activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in the Petrochemical Industry.
• Possession of a Singapore Certified Energy Manager certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of Safety Case Regime.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 standard (preferred).
• Understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and SS651.
• Knowledge of IEC 61511 standard (preferred).
• Experience with Process Simulation software such as Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS.
• Familiarity with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), including logic and sequence modifications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage a diverse range of responsibilities.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
