Private Banking Software Engineer

Functional / Technical

1. Communicate highly technical issues to non-technical audience
2. Ensure adherence to the bank standards (including code, security and performance)
3. Analyse, design, code and implementation of complex custom-built applications
4. Work collaboratively with the team to achieve goals
5. Investigate and resolve production issues to help maintain a stable production environment
6. Implement best practices like Test Driven development and continuous CI/CD

Client / Stakeholder Management (internal & external)

1. Work closely with project managers, Product owners and Biz users to drive and manage IT delivery
2. Anticipate stakeholder needs and potential issues and develop proactive solutions to address them
3. Foster trust and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, team members

Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management

1. Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
2. Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely and drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Professional and Technical

1. Minimum 10-15 years of development experience core backend technologies: Java & Python
2. Preference for 3 years of independently managing cloud environments independently serving projects in prior roles
3. Minimum 2 years’ experience following TDD (Test driven development)
4. Well organized and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks. Able to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges
5. Able to translate functional requirements to efficient and fit-for-purpose technical solutions

Must Have:

1. Proven experience in cloud infrastructure management, including Linux, containerization, Kubernetes, Azure, and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code equivalent)
2. Strong understanding of cloud security, access control, and compliance
3. Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
4. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
5. A passion for technology and a deep understanding of our platform's features and benefits
6. Ability to move fast and fail fast in POCs to drive quick outcomes on feasibility analysis
7. Basic Linux shell scripting commands and Command Line Tools (CLIs)
8. Scripting, Configuration YAMLs, Docker files and Helm Chart writing skills
9. Experience in managing and setting up multiple environments (TST, UAT and PRD)
10. Well acquainted with VSCode/Intellij (or similar IDE), Git, Linting and SecOps

Desirable:

1. JBOSS (or any other application server knowledge)
2. Spring Boot
3. Java Server Faces, JPA, EJB knowledge
4. Able to write/understand complex SQL queries
5. React JS, or Angular
