Print Operations Inkjet Product Engineer
Description -
We are seeking candidates for our HP Inkjet Operations Product Engineering team in Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.
What a Print Operations Inkjet Product Engineer does in HP:
- Coordinate and lead internal & outsourced development activities with manufacturing partners and suppliers in support of the worldwide manufacture of Inkjet products from NPI through end of lifecycle.
- Works independently on moderate scope problems, applying professional expertise, exercising judgment, and resolving various issues by following company policies and procedures.
- Develops conclusions, recommendations, and written reports, contributing proactively through research and data analysis support, and sharing knowledge to foster a knowledge management culture.
- Designs portions of engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for low to moderately-complex products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and development technology guidelines, while ensuring cost effectiveness.
- Participates as a member of project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners and works towards ensuring products and solutions developed are reliable, and high quality.
- Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications and requirements.
- Conducts inspection of performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency; identifies corrective action of problems and deficiencies.
- Optimizes concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, to further increase efficiency and quality.
- Delivers designs and other program deliverables on time and within budget.
- Support Assurance of Supply part qualification activities to avoid or mitigate product shipment risks due to part availability issues.
- Influence R&D and GBU in the development of new products, services, and solutions for HP Inkjet portfolio.
- Develops new acceleration techniques, analytical tools and quality screens to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products.
- Lead initiatives to proactively identify customer impacting quality issues for Inkjet products in the field & factory and drive development of mitigation plans.
- Optimize and take cost out through Automation, Design influence, Manufacturing Overheads /Line Tooling/Test optimization, and Warranty reduction.
- Drive Future Ready Transformation initiatives to support HP evolution to an Agile, Resilient & Sustainable Supply Chain.
- Collaborate and communicate with Management, internal and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
- Typically 2-4 years’ experience.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of material properties, hardware, and electrical component design.
- Experience in 3D CAD software, statistical analysis & data visualization.
- Proficiency in programming will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
