Principal Scientist, A*STAR IDL

A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) is seeking for a Principal Scientist to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR IDL aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.

Job Description:

1. Leads conceptual and technical integration of various research studies to provide leading edge solutions in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research and development.
2. Conceptualize and create new technologies, patents and publications.
3. Review and manage operating budget of grants and team.
4. Establish collaborations, develop scientific proposals and ensure timely achievement of project milestones.
5. Manage a team and provide scientific and career mentorship to researchers and students.

Job Requirements:

1. PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology or related field as above.
2. 4 years of post-PhD relevant experience.
3. Strong background in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics.
4. Strong publication record.
5. Highly motivated and ability to develop strong research ideas to secure grant and funding.
6. Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
7. Team player with good interpersonal skills.
8. Good spoken and written communication skills.
