Principal Engineer, Naval Architecture

Position Summary

• Independently handling design projects and developing naval architecture & hull design.
• Lead team to review external designs.
• Provide assistance in enhancing the skills and knowledge of team members to support their professional development.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Liaise with Owner/Class/External Designer for the specific design requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Lead team in general conceptual and basic design.
• Design and deliver tailored training programs, provide one-on-one coaching, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives and industry practices.
• Perform naval architecture calculations such as speed performance prediction, stability/hydrostatic, scantling assessment, and weight distribution.
• Responsible for delivering the respective project design drawings and documents.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience in the marine/offshore industry, specifically in Hull & Naval Architecture design.
• Good knowledge and skills in coaching and structural/naval architecture design.
• Familiarity with GHS/NAPA/FEMAP/AutoCAD/MS Office.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
