Principal Electrical Engineer - Radios & System Integration (Marine)

Job description:

Responsibilities:

1. To cover design aspects for systems such as Radars, Navigation Comms, Integrated Comms, Integrated Combat Systems and Layout designs
2. Work with other trades on integration design between Platform and Systems
3. To prepare the General Arrangement Plan (GAP)
4. Preparation of tender proposal and technical specifications for tender submission
5. Establish Major Equipment Specifications and Selections
6. To check and ensure equipment specification, technical information, functional description document, installation control document and interface design specification are correct and properly maintained, disseminate and use for the preparation of design work activities
7. Planning and control of Basic design document schedule to support project milestone
8. To develop new designs and design concepts
9. To source for new design tools
10. To provide specialist technical assessment and analysis to other in-house departments and external parties
11. To continue updating, developing and expanding the design database
12. To participate in tests and sea trials, including HAT and SAT, where required
13. Perform detail design calculation where necessary
14. To follow up and resolve all the design issues raised by Owner, Classification and Statutory Authorities on all design documents promptly and timely to support the schedule, including on-site checking and discussions
15. To generate 2D arrangement drawings for major equipment
16. To generate a list of design drawings/documents specific to each project
17. To check working drawings and ensure that they conform to contractual technical specifications, installation control documents, Classification and Statutory Rules/Regulations
18. To keep abreast with current technological developments and products, Classification rules, military and industrial standards, and other standards relevant to design activities

Requirements:

1. Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
2. 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Marine related projects on Navigation Communications Systems and Radars (Fire Control & Surveillance) will be advantageous
3. Possess both project management and man management experience
4. Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders will be critical for this role
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD
6. Only Singaporeans will be considered for this role

1. Location: Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)
2. 5 days work week
3. Working Hours: 7.25am to 5.00pm
