About the job
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Google is forming a new Submarine cable organization which will build, operate, and sell global infrastructure assets to support GGN growth and open networking objectives. This organization will require dedicated business operations program support to help define, design, and deploy resources towards a cohesive and coordinated plan embedded within the GGNI and wider cloud division.
Responsibilities
- Manage regional PFE power systems throughout their lifecycle, ensuring technical acceptance, operational excellence, and maximum reliability through the development and implementation of standards, procedures, maintenance strategies, and performance monitoring.
- Oversee the performance of PFE/subsea systems and subcontractors, leading service restoration efforts in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Partner with location teams on utility engagement and energy strategies, developing energy plans, supporting discussions, designing alternative solutions, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Provide on-site PFE expertise during critical situations, support regional teams with troubleshooting, and ensure security compliance.
- Accurately forecast regional power needs, manage on-site POD installations, discuss and manage third-party support agreements, optimize processes, and conduct risk analyses.
