Roles & Responsibilities

• Supports Group CFO through Head of Group Portfolio Management (GPM) on Strategic/management scenario planning entailing Group Portfolio Performance planning, group funding gap, projected returns simulation, new investment assessment and any ad-hoc assessment required.
• Supports Market CEO to develop investment papers, plan and shape their country Portfolio position with new growth to its existing BAU assets;
• Hypothesize group portfolio scenarios and present for discussion with senior management committee/GCEO/GCFO;
• Run and review valuations computation and propose recommended actions to uplift shareholder value.
• Lead on ad hoc review/projects driven by the department;
• Lead Post-Investment Review (PIR) for completed projects and Functional Assurance (FA) review for new investment papers;
• Drive and lead the group-wide growth budgeting discussion with market head/CFO. Work with Group FPA to incorporate as part of the overall budget.
• Review key benchmark parameters in investments namely, hurdle rate assessment, peer evaluation, financial and debt ratio targets and ensure it is reflective of latest market condition.
• Quarterly review and update the growth funding requirement and simulate group funding need for seeking board mandate or additional approval required on funding.
• Guide fellow team members on complex technical subject matters such as corporate finance, financial modelling, techno-commercial insights.
• Co-lead initiatives/projects with other departments such as Group Strategy, Group Centre of Excellence on ad-hoc projects including developing FMs for scenario analysis.
• Participates in green and brownfield M&A acquisition projects on an ad-hoc basis.
• Helps the department shape its IAP processes and digitalisation efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Business Administration or Accountancy (CFA or CA preferred) with at least 8-10 years of managerial position;
• At least 3-5 years of financial modelling experience in financial analyst role (preferably in big 4 firm) to support business case evaluation;
• Have done at least 3 years of investment evaluation.

Skills / Competencies & Preferred Characteristics

• Strong financial modelling skill, good corporate finance knowledge & investment evaluation;
• Good understanding of accounting and group consolidation;
• Strong in MS Excel and PowerPoint skills (able to develop financial model and prepare presentation information);
• Resourceful and able to search for market information independently;
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, attention to detail;
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment under pressure and tight deadlines;
• Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude to perform data analysis and resolve complex problems;
• Good leadership, business-oriented with ability to communicate and handle all levels including senior management;
• Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.
