Position Summary
The Pilot reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for the direct supervision of flight operations. The Pilot is responsible for the staffing requirements of Air7’s fleet of aircraft. The Chief Pilot is also responsible for ensuring the staff is properly trained and checked in accordance with the Air7 training program while ensuring a high proficiency and safety level in all flight operations. He also has the authority to carry out duties delegated to him by the Director of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Has operational control of the aircraft and personnel.
· Directs flight operations, organizing and staffing Air 7’s fleet of aircraft.
· Conducts, forecasts, and schedules the training of Air 7’s flight crews.
· Ensures airports and routes are suitable and meet company requirements.
· Ensures that flight operations are conducted in accordance with national and international regulations, standards, and company operating policy.
· Maintains a current library, including GOM, MEL, AFM supplements, navigation databases, and aeronautical chart subscriptions, administers and keeps current the EFB program and software apps.
· Keeps all pilots informed on matters concerning flight operations.
· Administers and assigns working assignments to personnel.
· Monitors standardization of company’s pilots, enforces adherence and compliance in all phases of aircraft operations.
· Conducts annual pilot performance reviews to identify and assess current standards and adherence to safety and company procedures.
· Continually evaluates flight operations, initiating changes that will improve safety and reporting unsafe
conditions to the Director of Operations and Director of Safety.
· Indoctrinates newly employed flight personnel, advancing pilots, and upgrading crew on their responsibilities and duties.
