Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.
Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their life easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. For everyone, everywhere.
As a People Operations Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and customer-focused experience throughout our employees' (referred to as Wisers) lifecycle by supporting our team members to excel at Wise.
You will be based in Singapore, with the opportunity to engage in global projects both within our team and alongside other People sub-teams. These efforts will ensure we have the foundations in place for our tribe to succeed as a trusted advisor and partner.
And you’ll likely come up with ideas to improve our team's operations. To start, you'll work on onboarding projects to enhance your skills before initiating your own innovations.
Onboarding Support:
- Manage the administrative process of onboarding new Wisers in Singapore (with potential to expand coverage to the APAC region), ensuring that the Wiser journey is as smooth as possible with everyone kept in the loop.
- Book travel and accommodation for those who are relocating and/or attending company onboarding in other offices, working closely with the team to ensure we have appropriate immigration documentation in place.
- Coordinate adaptable onboarding plans and collaborate on future changes that align with Wise’s way of working.
- Coordinate with our User Tech and Workplace team to ensure our new Wisers are set up for success on day 1, including access card & workstation collection both onsite & offsite across APAC.
- Support Leads with any onboarding guidance needed, providing a checklist of things to consider in advance of the new Wiser joining their team.
- Handle all first-day new Wiser administration (e.g., employment contracts, right to work checks, benefits enrollment, welcome email, etc.).
- Deal with Wiser questions on first-line queries (ticketing tool), escalating to the team as needed.
- Keep our HR system (Workday) up to date with accurate Wiser information.
- Prepare any required documentation for our Wisers (e.g., employment agreements, references, visa invitation letters, etc.).
- Support our Payroll team with any documentation needed to process changes (e.g., joiners, benefits, etc.).
- Maintain the team’s content on Confluence (our intranet) so that Wisers can access correct information at any time.
Team Initiatives:
- Collaborate with the People team on local and global projects.
- Contribute ideas for improvement and new projects during planning cycles.
- Provide support to the team with other ad-hoc tasks, focus areas, and project-based work.
Qualifications
A bit about you:

- Adaptable and solution-focused.
- Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner.

- Understand that your work impacts our Wisers. You have the best Wiser experience at the front and center of what you do. It’s not about us, it’s about our Wisers.
- Strive in developing processes that are convenient, transparent, and easy to remember for our Wisers.
- Love new technology and have the desire to improve the process by automation.
- Humble, self-aware, and trustworthy. You can collaborate well within your team as well as cross-teams.
Key Qualities:
- Strong English (written and verbal). Additional languages are a plus point.
- We are looking for someone who will live the Wise values, in particular “We get it done” and “Customer>Team>Ego”.
- Keen to improve processes and challenge the way we do things for the better.
