PECT Laboratory Assistant Manager (TIC)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to serve as the Technical-In-Charge (TIC) for the Protective Engineering (PE) Laboratory, part of the PECT Laboratory. In this key role, you will oversee lab operations, ensure equipment functionality, and drive innovation in structural and protective engineering research. You will also support teaching activities, manage resources effectively, and contribute to NTU's mission of advancing academic and technological excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the PE Laboratory, including equipment maintenance, inventory, and safety compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and logistical support to faculty, researchers, and students across research and teaching activities.
• Manage budgets and procurement for lab equipment, maintenance, and consumables, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
• Facilitate cross-laboratory collaboration, sustainability initiatives, and process improvement projects.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance through training, audits, and proactive risk management.

Requirements:

• A degree in Physics, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, maintenance, and licensing regulations.
• Proven experience in managing operations, safety protocols, and supporting diverse research and teaching needs.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and resource management.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
