Patient Advocate & Corporate Affairs Manager

As a Patient Advocate & Corporate Affairs Manager for Singapore, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering life-changing medicines to patients.

Job Summary:

You'll be responsible for developing programs and campaigns for various forms of internal or external communication, and act as an expert support to a geographical or functional area in one or more types of communication or corporate affairs work.

Typical Accountabilities:

  • Contributes to multiple Corporate Affairs and communications projects to help AstraZeneca communicate important corporate messages to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributes to engagements with key internal or external groups, such as sales teams, external charities, government lobbyists, and regulators.
  • Carries out research, either individually or as part of a team, into more complex areas of government legislation, regulation, managed markets, or public policy.
  • Liaises with brand managers and other internal colleagues to explain how internal or external developments can affect their brands or areas of responsibility.
  • Helps brand leaders develop communications programs and strategies tied to their respective brand strategies.
  • Builds and participates in internal and external networks to share information in the legislative, regulatory, or public policy arena and disseminate best practices internally.
  • May manage data information systems to keep track of external relations with various social groups or charities.
  • May engage with lobbyists or government or regulatory officials.
  • May oversee the regulatory submissions for particular product categories or brands.
  • May have budget management responsibilities.
  • May be responsible for communicating with and organizing external vendors and service providers.
  • Acts as a resource in one or more areas of Corporate Governance, helping managers and other colleagues resolve more complex Corporate Affairs and communication-related issues.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science, communications, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of communications/Corporate Affairs experience.
  • Understanding of new media, especially social networks.
  • Expertise in one or more areas of internal or external corporate communications.
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project manager who can work effectively under pressure.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with patient-support organizations.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
