About the role

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for leading area operators (approx. 15 employees) to carry out the manufacturing operations according to production schedule in compliance with Safety and Quality. This position validates the appropriate execution of safety, quality, service, cost, and people priorities within their department. While ensuring these priorities are maintained they are also responsible for optimizing current processes to improve SQSCP and meeting weekly key performance measurements. The Supervisor shall meet daily requirements ensuring standard work is followed and completed. The ideal candidate will be able assess, measure and improve workplace food safety, cGMPs, GDPs quality and efficiency results.

Your responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of production employees, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Drive the deployment of MOS and will be the point person as a key influencer for leading MOS in the shopfloor.
  • Lead the daily shift meetings with team members and responsible for allocating responsibilities and overseeing operations for assigned area and lines whilst monitoring productivity against established targets.
  • Perform Gemba walk independently on every shift basis to oversee operations, monitor and review compliance levels, engage and give recognition to direct reports.
  • Able to communicate issues, goals and objectives effectively and manage competing requests in a complex, changing environment.
  • Facilitate the departments training plan, provides coaching and performance qualification.
  • Able to problem solve safety, quality, service opportunities through root cause problem solving and quickly escalating when support is needed.
  • Oversee daily operation of the production line to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor production output and review production schedule to meet targets.
  • Communicate and coordinate work activities with other stakeholders in the manufacturing facility.
  • Support downtime investigation and escalate as necessary.
  • Ensure supplies and inventory are managed.
  • Ensure all team members are trained in and follow EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by enforcing safety standards.
  • Report and investigate any accidents or safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Address any quality issues and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Sustain and improve the execution of all documentation requirements within the department. Raise and correct any gaps from standard to ensure appropriate compliance.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
  • Drive yield and OEE performance, understand the drivers, and develop and execute plans to improve line performance with support from cross functional team.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and supports the SQSCP priorities.

The experience we're looking for

  • Diploma or Degree in related field of study such as Engineering, Food manufacturing or related disciplines.
  • 5 years of working experience packaging operation with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Previous experience in food, pharmaceutical, or nutrition-related business.
  • Experience working with the FDA, SFA or other appropriate regulatory agencies preferred.
  • Experience leading and developing a manufacturing shift/area in a complex, changing environment to deliver business objectives.
  • Experience using tools and system such as SAP, Optiva, Six Sigma, TPS or Lean.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Close attention to detail and experience with detailed documentation of task performed.
  • Proven ability to follow up and complete task in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction, in a team-based environment.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
