Operate the power plant according to procedures and requirements including but not limited to starting, loading, unloading and shutting down the complete plant and systems.
Support the ASCE/SCE/PSCE to meet the contractual, technical and commercial set-up and operation of the Power Station.
Have sound knowledge of the safe operating parameters, controls, precaution and safety interlocks when starting and loading plant equipment.
Plant process conditions troubleshooting, analyzing and testing when necessary.
Able to manage, monitoring and control the plant process operation from control room DCS.
Record plant operating data and report defects and abnormalities.
Carry out isolation/normalization of equipment as required by the Permit To Work System.
Understand and familiar with Plant Chemistry including handling of plant waste discharge.
Carry out plant change-over and conduct testing of equipment to meet statutory compliance and best industry practices.
Input to and liaison where necessary for long term Station planning.
Assist to implement modern O&M practices, tools and techniques for safe, reliable and efficient Power Station operation.
Assist to establish and implement mandatory O&M policies and procedures to meet all Station, company and legislative requirements.
Assist to fully develop and utilize the CMMS for efficient and effective Power Station operation practices.
Fully utilizing the CMMS to ensure all operation activities and experiences are recorded to comply with station, legislative and company policy requirements.
Assist to implement a Quality Management System as applied to the Power Station.
To assist fully with and help implement and manage all Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
Communicate with Regulatory and Authority on all operation matters in a timely manner.
To take part in training both on and off site, to be trained and to train others as required.
The post holder will be expected to comply with all company and legislative health requirements relevant to their duties and responsibilities.
To undertake additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by the ASCE/SCE/PSCE.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Higher National Diploma or Certificate is preferred in a relevant engineering discipline and accompanied by the relevant experience.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
NTC 2/ certified boiler attendant.
Minimum 3 years operation experience in Combined Cycle Power Plant with knowledge of DCS Operations.
Ideally involvement in the technical and maintenance aspects of Gas Turbines.
Some experience in the erection, commissioning and initial start-up phases of a modern Power Station or Process Plant is preferred.
Knowledge and experience of modern Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
