PRIMARY FUNCTION
Successfully drives, facilitates, and coaches the Business Process Improvement approach within ASM region(s), business unit(s), and/or functional area(s) by providing strategic and transformational expertise through the deployment of Business Process Improvement Systems, related tools, and thought processes.
Acts as the key subject matter expert regarding process improvement initiatives.
Presents recommendations and progress reports to senior and executive leadership.
Provides mentoring, coaching, and project management leadership to team members within a global structure, business unit, or functional level.
Responsible for creating an environment and assisting leadership and customers in the timely and successful completion of cost-effective, strategic project and business improvement opportunities.
Serves as project consultant, guide, or leader while implementing and accelerating constructive long-term change.
Drives organization(s) to meet their strategic objectives.
Assumes leadership role as the key continuous improvement consultant in a learn-and-do approach.
Directly interfaces with key leadership and functional experts providing insight and advice on Business Process Improvement approaches to strategic business challenges.
Incorporates the use of Business Process Improvement Methodology and Tools into current business management processes.
Stays current in the field through continuous learning and internal and external benchmarking activities.
Influences projects and business improvement initiatives to directly contribute to stated strategic objectives.
Critically reviews and coaches others on effective use of Business Process Improvement Methodology and Tools.
Manages the Business Process Improvement Certification process for continued learning and organizational capability development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support Head of Operations Excellence to define Operational Excellence strategies and goals, deploy plans, and ensure deployment is aligned with the business strategy.
Articulate and communicate the Operations Excellence strategy to the site/function and serve as a role model for Business Excellence behaviors and values.
Drive Operations Excellence workstreams' implementations in AMS.
Promote Class A behavior and sustainability.
Coordinate Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
Lead Lean Six Sigma projects to improve quality, reduce cycle times, and reduce cost to achieve customer satisfaction.
Lead Green Belt program, advocate training, and Kaizen on site.
Teach, influence, and motivate staff to apply Lean Six Sigma tools for problem-solving.
Create an open environment for learning and facilitate Operations Excellence/Class A/BCP training.
Mentor Black Belts, Green Belts, and Advocates for Lean Sigma projects.
Track and report project benefits.
Network with other sites/functions to exchange knowledge and good practices both internally and externally.
Cultivate the continuous improvement culture in AMS.
Lead and support Divisional Business Excellence projects.
Drive activities to maintain Class A standards.
Report balance scorecard results monthly to the site and provide metric results to Division.
Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science; Industrial Engineering is highly advantageous.
5 to 8 years of related experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a management position.
Good people and communication skills.
Good change management and facilitation skills.
Strong project management skills.
Black Belt Certification will be highly advantageous.
Strong trainer capability.
Proven influencing and negotiating ability.
Coaching and mentoring ability.
Positive can-do attitude.
