Our Client, in the Logistics Industry located in East, has an opening for Operation Team Lead - Contract Logistics/SCM.
1 Year Renewable Contract
Day Shift (a): 0800 – 1745 (5 Day Work Week)
Day Shift (b): 0830 – 1815 (5 Day Work Week)
The Operations Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the logistics department to ensure the efficient and accurate movement of goods within the supply chain. This role involves leading a team of logistics personnel, ensuring that operations meet productivity, quality, and safety standards, and implementing strategies to enhance the efficiency of logistics functions. The Team Lead will collaborate closely with other departments to streamline operations and resolve any logistical issues that may arise.
Team Leadership and Supervision:
Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of logistics staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
Provide training and development to team members to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and recommend improvements.
Schedule and assign tasks to logistics team members, ensuring coverage and effective workload distribution.
Logistics Operations Management:
Oversee daily logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation, order fulfilment, and shipment tracking.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers and stakeholders.
Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure that operational procedures are followed, including safety protocols, inventory controls, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations to enhance workflow, minimize delays, and optimize resource utilization.
Develop and implement best practices for logistics functions, including inventory control, material handling, and transportation.
Analyse data and metrics to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for process enhancements.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Collaborate with other teams (e.g., customer service, procurement, and warehouse management) to ensure smooth operations and quick resolution of any logistical issues.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address challenges, share updates, and coordinate operational activities.
Support the logistics management team in strategic planning and execution of company-wide goals.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:
Act as the first point of contact for resolving any operational issues or obstacles that arise within the logistics process.
Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to inventory, shipments, or delivery schedules.
Manage customer complaints or escalations related to logistics and ensure timely resolutions.
Inventory and Warehouse Management:
Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels, proper storage, and minimal stockouts or overstock situations.
Assist in the development and implementation of warehouse layout strategies to improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures, including regular stock audits.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure that all logistics operations comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Enforce safety standards and monitor the workplace to prevent accidents and injuries.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in logistics or operations management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain operations, and inventory management.
Excellent leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve operational issues efficiently.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in logistics management software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
