Lead the Mechanical Department and make sure everything runs smoothly and on time.
Handle mechanical repairs and updates for all ships.
Ensure production meets customer standards and expectations.
Assign projects to lead man.
Make sure mechanical jobs are finished on schedule.
Check progress of work on board or in the workshop.
Plan department staffing needs.
Identify and arrange training for staff.
Oversee staff training and skill improvement in ship repair.
Improve work quality in the department.
Monitor and review safety and hazard reports.
Proposed and implement safety plans together with Safety Coordinator when necessary.
Conduct safety checks around the workshops, open yard and parameters.
Housekeeping if necessary.
Keep track of subcontractor working hours.
Requirements
The ideal candidates should possess strong knowledge and experience in areas such as propulsion, shaft alignment, thrusters, and CPP. A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required, along with 4 to 8 years of experience in the shipyard or marine industry.
