Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced research professional to join Oliver Wyman Knowledge Department. You will work closely with partners and consultants to support secondary research efforts and ensure successful delivery of client work.
The Knowledge Department supports our consultants with planning and execution of on-demand research projects as well as the interpretation, evaluation, and preparation of results. You will have expert-level research skills and the ability to quickly develop knowledge of research tools to facilitate effective and creative research approaches. You will help consultants and research colleagues to scope and develop their research needs, conduct timely, accurate and cost-effective research, and deliver compelling synthesized research products. You will work with a wide range of information tools and proprietary databases to provide research for client projects and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a wide range of information tools and proprietary databases, providing both quick solutions and in-depth research for the business.
- Synthesize information and glean key concepts and trends from the information, providing own point of view and basic insights in the deliverables. Ability to think critically and develop the most efficient solutions to information requirements is key in this role.
- Collaborate with consultants engaged in client service, business development, or intellectual capital building by delivering highly relevant and well-synthesized research. Directly engage in strategic projects, together with our research specialists and consultants, and contribute to updates and maintenance of customized knowledge products.
- Develop strong trusted relationships with practice members and research colleagues to promote effective knowledge sharing and a positive work environment.
- Independently manage the pipeline of industry-specific tasks, set priorities, and collaborate with a team of international colleagues to meet client demands. You will be required to exercise independent judgment to solve internal client demands, which will involve prioritizing your own work to satisfy competing needs and building excellent task management and time management skills.
- Use MS Office tools to produce graphical portrayals of research findings, customized to project needs.
Experience and Skills required:
- 3-5 years of experience as a research professional in management consultancy, technology firm, investment bank, private equity, asset management, or research provider.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, LSEG-Eikon-Refinitiv, S&P Capital IQ, and similar market data resources.
- Ability to operate under pressure and tight deadlines to meet the needs of a high-paced globally focused environment. This requires the ability to manage several tasks effectively while prioritizing and managing your own time.
- Creative problem-solving skills and inquisitive nature with a tenacious drive to solve complex research challenges.
- Attention to detail and high accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and research synthesis skills allowing you to draw out key insights and provide basic data analysis.
- The ability to apply Generative AI tools to enhance efficiency and quality of research deliverables.
- Excellent Excel skills. Proficiency with the rest of the MS Office suite. Experience with Power BI is an advantage.
