Position Description

The Operations Analyst will be responsible for the operation support for China Connect / Hong Kong market (or any other Self-Clearing market in Asia) for Cash Equity business. Functions include settlement and custody functions as a self-clearing broker in this market, as well as client services of Institutional Clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide quality post-execution support to Institutional Clients from trade settlement and fail management.
2. Ensure timely settlement with Exchange and Clients.
3. Ensure funding sufficiency for trade settlements.
4. Manage settlement fails with Exchange and Clients.
5. Follow up on post-settlement exceptions and reconciliations.
6. Adhere to control procedures, identify gaps, and ensure controls are implemented to close those gaps.
7. Provide stock borrow/return support.

Key Requirements

1. The successful candidate will ideally have settlements experience in cash equity products. Experience in Hong Kong / China Connect will be advantageous.
2. Ability to work under time pressure due to the short settlement window of this market.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Applications. Knowledge of VBA will be advantageous.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Good organization skills and ability to prioritize workload.
6. Public holiday coverage and extended working hours may be required.
