Job description

Business Function

Ops COO – NRU unit is the nostro reconciliation hub for DBS group. The unit has two functions: Nostro account reconciliation & the Business Management Support (BMS) that manages static data, feeds processes and production of daily MIS. The main focus for this role is to assist the team manager on the day-to-day reconciliations activities and conduct first level investigation on nostro breaks.

Responsibilities

  • To have deep understanding on Nostro reconciliation processes and principles.
  • Ensure daily Service level Agreements are duly met.
  • Act as the central point of BAU escalation and Nostro reconciliation inquiries, ensuring breaks resolution within reasonable timelines independently.
  • Engage stakeholders pro-actively on Nostro reconciliation matters and provide support whenever required.
  • Enhance Nostro reconciliation automation via close collaboration with stakeholders to create auto-matching rules.
  • Drive innovation, re-engineer Nostro reconciliation and investigation processes to achieve process standardization and improvement in controls.
  • Participate in new business initiatives discussion, assess and provide Nostro reconciliation requirements, raise risks if any and formulate action plans for resolution.
  • Manage the monthly General Ledger Attestation (GLAO) ownership process.
  • Handling of ad hoc projects when required.

Requirements

  • Degree holder preferably in Accounting but other disciplines are welcome to apply.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Banking Operations.
  • Experience in Nostro reconciliation or operations, managing SmartStream TLM system or other reconciliation systems will be highly beneficial.
  • Ability to collect and analyse information and make recommendations to improve productivity.
  • Able to independently engage Support and Business Units on reconciliation matters as well as to escalate and articulate issues and proposed resolutions.
  • Essential that written, spoken and listening skills are very strong.
  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills, comfortable with audience of senior level professionals.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to grow and keep pace with rapid changes in the business.
  • Good command of software skills, MS Office/Excel etc.
