Network Engineer L2 | Yearly Renewable Contract | up to $6k

Experience managing Meraki and firewalls.

The Network engineer is responsible for managing day-to-day support of an organization’s information technology activities, meeting customer’s requirements and Service Level Agreements.
He/she is also responsible for the operational tasks for teams under his/her charge, ensuring that network, services, infrastructure and scope assigned can work reliably and securely.
Lead teams that develop and implement networks and servers, respond to user/help desk requests, and monitor network stability and performance.

The activities may include but are not limited to:

• Conduct BAU activities, health checks, conduct infrastructure monitoring, handle customer queries, investigate incidents reported, resolve the incidents, apply fixes, and ensure that incidents reported are tracked and resolved till closure.
• Provide leadership and accountability to the teams managed.
• Train and guide junior team members.
• Directly support end users by handling escalations, resolving user issues, and monitoring the performance of business-critical systems to prevent delays and outages and quickly resolve ongoing issues.

Technical Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years experience in IT Network Infrastructure.
• Experienced in network/security administration in enterprise DC and Public Environment.
• Experience in supporting firewall/network products such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, and Check Point.
• Experienced in troubleshooting system, middleware, and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware/software issues, analyzing system logs, and identifying potential issues/incidents.

Service Delivery:

• Act as a focal point for all operational support-related queries and issues.
• Review transition plans, enhancement milestones, and deliverables in consultation with support teams and customers.
• Regular review with support team to ensure that all support tasks and deliverables meet service levels.
• Ensure that regular reviews of the services provided (Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) are conducted to maintain alignment between the services and the expectations of the customer.
• Notify/escalate any ‘out of scope’ variations to services to Service Delivery Director (SDD) / Service Delivery Manager (SDM).
• Notify/escalate critical issues or variations to service levels to Service Delivery Director (SDD) / Service Delivery Manager (SDM).
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and correct network problems remotely/on-site.
• Document incident RCA reports, the configuration of the system, and (network) system performance tuning.
• Implement security measures on company networks to prevent unauthorized access or theft of data.
• Maintain an inventory of network equipment along with their specifications.
• Monitor network activity to ensure proper functioning of network components and equipment.
• Monitor network security to detect unauthorized access or other security breaches.
• Troubleshoot problems with computers, printers, network devices, or other network components to ensure optimal performance.
• Responsible for network administration tasks including configuration management, installations, security updates, and urgent system patching.
• Support LAN/WAN-based applications including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Provide support for Level 1-2 escalated issues.
• Responsible for security compliance, patching, health check, and hardening remediation.
• Maintain and administer perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform standard or project change requests as per change window (non-business hours).

Provide on-call 24 x 7 support on a rotating basis.
