Network Engineer

The opportunity
As a Network Engineer at Pacific Tech, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing and troubleshooting network solutions that support Pacific Tech's business objectives.

Key responsibilities

1. Oversees projects management and implementation;
2. Codify implementation design into documented for end user's record;
3. Conduct training and presentation for team members and end-users;
4. Provide technical testing or support to pre-sales engineer/customer on the network setup;
5. Assist on technical communications with customer/partner, to ensure closure of sales order;
6. Ensuring that the solution can deliver on the customer’s requirements;
7. Work closely with Level 2 support, if case issue is escalated to Level 3;
8. Maintain rapport with customers and competence in managing vendors;
9. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

What we're looking for

1. Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT Networking or equivalent;
2. At least 2 years of work experience in a SI or distributor environment with network security skillset;
3. Good IT knowledge in OSI 7 Layer, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN technologies and network security;
4. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision;
5. Excellent communication and analytical skills;
6. Experience in network security projects implementation;
7. Positive working attitude, ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team;
8. Willing to work extended office hours and after office hours when needed;
9. Exposure to security solutions such as Firewall, local balancer or endpoint protection will be an added advantage.
