Network & Cybersecurity Engineer (Retail Sector, East, Mon to Fri, Office hours)

Summary

• Perm role comes with comprehensive benefits (Annual leave, VB -up to 2-3 months, medical benefits, etc).
• Working days & hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:30pm.

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will collaborate closely with the entire IT/ICS infrastructure and application teams to oversee, maintain, and enhance the network infrastructure.

Daily operational responsibilities include:

• Oversee and maintain network connectivity for the company’s HQ and its affiliated stores.
• Analyze network traffic patterns to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies as required.
• Manage network infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and other related devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues by analyzing network logs and packet captures.
• Support compliance with VAPT requirements and verification processes.
• Lead project management during network implementations, including documentation of configurations and vendor coordination.
• Ensure seamless network connectivity for all servers, workstations, laptops, telephony systems, printers, and production tools.
• Schedule and execute firmware upgrades and preventive maintenance for network devices and firewalls.
• Address escalated system and application issues, troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems.
• Maintain accurate IT asset records, patch information, network diagrams, system requests, and process documentation for operational efficiency.
• Develop and enhance monitoring tools to track system health and infrastructure availability.

Systems Knowledge:

• Understanding of Windows, Linux, and virtualization for integrating network services. Familiarity with cloud provider management consoles such as Azure Portal, Linode Glish, or AWS Elastic Beanstalk is a plus.

Security Expertise:

• Knowledge of network security practices and policies in Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Technological Proficiency:

• Familiarity with and understanding of the following concepts and technological standards:
• a. TCP/IP protocol and subnets.
• b. Routing and switching.
• c. VLANs and LAN/WAN configurations.
• d. Network security principles and best practices.
• e. Quality of Service (QoS).
• f. Network monitoring and management tools.
• g. Hybrid Enterprise Network Architecture (On-Prem + Cloud).
