Network and Cybersecurity Engineer

JOB DETAILS

The essential responsibilities of Senior Network Security Engineer:

1. Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
2. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, switches & wireless controller/access points and network access control
3. Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximise network efficiency and security troubleshooting/ fault finding network incidents
4. Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations/laptops, telephony equipment, printers, and production equipment/tools
5. Perform and arrange network device/firewall firmware upgrade or preventive maintenance activities
6. Provide systems engineering and operational support for the IT infrastructure components
7. Handle all escalations on system, applications and attend to faults, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software technical problems.
8. Manage and maintain an up-to-date IT asset and patch information list, network diagrams, system requests and documented processes for the operations and maintenance of the platforms
9. Develop and improve instrumentations to monitor the health and availability of the systems-related infrastructure, Experience with monitoring tools
10. Provide day-to-day network administration support

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate would possess the following:

1. Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a similar relevant field
2. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in network administration is a must
3. Hands-on experience with equipment from HPE, Aruba, Cisco
4. Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, QoS, and VPN
5. Hands-on knowledge of Firewall, Routers, VLANs and routing protocols
6. Knowledge of DMZ, Cyber Security, server hardening and firewall administration
7. Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation
8. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
9. Ability to work with all levels of staff within the organization
10. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
11. Excellent organizational and time management skills
12. Good analytical and problem-solving skills
