Lead a dynamic research team and succeed in applications for external research funding, whether individually or as part of a team.
Publish research papers in top-ranked international peer-reviewed journals and other forms of publication within the research community.
Establish collaborations with local/overseas research institutions.
Participate in development opportunities to improve research and supervision skills.
Teaching
Design, plan, and implement effective and inclusive teaching arrangements and learning activities for undergraduate- and graduate-level courses face-to-face and/or through virtual delivery.
Develop, design and continuously improve curriculum plans, course outlines, evaluation procedures and instruments to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement.
Provide guidance and supervision to graduate and undergraduate students.
Seek student feedback on teaching through questionnaires or other sources and respond constructively to such feedback.
Contribute to the School’s internal review and the external accreditation of subjects and programmes.
Service
Participate in departmental meetings and in other committees and working groups as required.
Undertake specific departmental roles and management functions as required.
Provide academic support to other faculty members.
Participate in the School’s outreach/admission-related events and activities to raise awareness of NTU Materials Science and Engineering degree programmes.
Contribute to the University’s academic community through developing and organising seminars/conferences.
Contribute to the wider academic community through active participation in professional scientific societies, editorships, international grant reviewerships, etc.
