Music Teacher (Preschool)

Job Description

The position requires the candidate to conduct music lessons to pre-schoolers at EtonHouse centres. The ideal candidate would be a person who can also assume a role as a teacher.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with children, teachers, and the community of EtonHouse to develop fun, educational music/movement activities and deepen the learning that is taking place through class-initiated inquiries.
• Create a variety of opportunities for children to express themselves and make discoveries using children’s songs, lyrics, and movements related to the curriculum as well as performance theme music.
• Meet regularly with the class teachers and curriculum coordinator to discuss ideas and connections to the current inquiries.
• Maintain a high standard of teaching practice and professionalism.
• Undertake continued professional development and share the scope of Music Teacher with the school community.
• Document children’s learning, making connections to the curriculum, for example, portfolio entries, newsletters, and community display boards.
• Manage and develop pre-school resources and materials for the Music programme.

Qualifications

• Diploma in education with a major in music, or a diploma/degree in music, or Diploma in Music Performance/Speech & Drama.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Added Advantages: Ability to play at least one musical instrument and/or basic qualifications in Early Childhood Education/Preschool Teaching.
