Introduction to the Role:
Looking for a migration support engineer who will be part of an existing team. The overall objective is to assist with all technical support work related to project including infrastructure, application and user migrations.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting quality assurance (QA) and UAT for applications to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements. Coordinate UAT efforts by engaging with testers and gathering feedback for further improvements.
  • Support the packaging, promotion, and deployment of applications to the production environment. Facilitate application entitlements and revocations for end users as needed and troubleshoot any application-related issues.
  • Perform cluster rebalancing and retrofitting tasks to optimize application infrastructure and ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Assist with image and infrastructure testing by troubleshooting issues, coordinating testing efforts, and collaborating with relevant teams to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Manage and coordinate change requests (CRQs) related to project tasks. Ensure all stakeholders are informed of upcoming changes and that processes are followed.
  • Provide support during user migration processes, including profile issue troubleshooting and remediation to ensure a seamless transition for users.
  • Assist with device reclaim efforts and perform cluster rebalancing using VMware technology - vmotion via PowerShell scripts.
  • Perform analysis on packaging priorities. Contribute to application rationalization to optimize the portfolio of applications.
  • Organize and host bridge calls, ensuring clear communication between stakeholders, technical teams, and any other relevant parties to address project-related issues and updates.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ability to execute pre-built PowerShell scripts effectively for various automation and system management tasks.
  • Hands-on experience working with virtual desktops, virtual servers, and virtual infrastructure. Strong understanding of operating systems including Windows 10 and Windows 11, as well as enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a large group of users, particularly in an enterprise environment, with expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Windows 10, Windows 11, and enterprise applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid technical foundation and working knowledge of a broad range of infrastructure teams, including engineering, storage, operations, support, and service desk. Ability to collaborate with teams across APAC and other regions.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with VMware, including vCenter (VC), Horizon Cloud Service (HCS), vMotion is required.
  • Previous experience working in a financial organisation environment is essential, with an understanding of industry-specific IT challenges and requirements.
  • Willingness to perform system changes during weekends and weekday nights, as required for project needs or support functions.
