Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager for Membership Services to lead our team in delivering exceptional service and support to our valued members. This role is crucial in ensuring member satisfaction, retention, and growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of membership management, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record in digital marketing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Membership Services, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.
  3. Manage the member database and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  4. Develop and execute membership recruitment and retention campaigns.
  5. Lead and implement digital marketing strategies to reach and engage current and prospective members. This includes:
    1. Overseeing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
    2. Creating engaging content for online channels (website, email newsletters, social media).
    3. Utilising digital analytics to track campaign performance and optimise strategies.
    4. Exploring and implementing new digital marketing tools and technologies.
  6. Manage the membership budget and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  7. Supervise Membership Services staff.
  8. Collaborate with other departments within the union to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to member services.
  9. Represent the union at member events and meetings.
  10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in membership management and digital marketing.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  2. Proven experience 5 years in membership management, preferably in a union or non-profit environment.
  3. Demonstrable experience and success in developing and implementing membership services and digital marketing strategies.
  4. Strong understanding of CRM systems and database management.
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Strong leadership and management skills.
  8. Commitment to the values and mission of the trade union movement.
