Role Summary

  • Responsibilities: You will be based in our Medical Communications division, focusing on the detailed analysis and creative presentation of clinical trial data for a diverse range of clients, including leading pharmaceutical and medical technology companies, as well as patient and public health bodies and charitable organisations.
  • Salary: S$4,500 per month

About the Role

The Medical Writer and Analyst positions are ideal for those with experience in scientific research and for enthusiastic recent graduates in the sciences seeking the opportunity to be part of a growing team. You will be based in our Singapore office working in our Asia-Pacific team, as well as collaborating with colleagues from our UK and US teams.

Medical Writers and Analysts work on projects involving the detailed analysis of data from clinical trials and the assimilation and creative presentation of this analysis in different formats including posters, slide sets, value dossiers, reports, and peer-reviewed publications. These deliverables are used directly by our clients in communication with external stakeholders instrumental to the successful uptake of novel therapies.

You will work in project teams alongside experienced colleagues in both the Singapore, UK, and US offices who provide one-to-one training in the technical aspects of the role, including project management and effective client communication. Delivering project work requires close collaboration with clients and, following a successful induction period, you will increasingly engage in teleconferences and face-to-face meetings with external stakeholders.

Positions are available for those looking for an entry-level role as well as those with some prior experience. We are looking for ambitious individuals with the potential to progress rapidly into more senior roles involving greater project management and client responsibility.

Essential Requirements

Essential requirements for the role are:

  • A degree level or higher qualification in a scientific discipline (minimum CAP or GPA 4/5 or equivalent). We welcome applications from candidates with a diverse range of specialisms, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, pharmacy, and medicine.
  • An excellent written and spoken fluency in English in order to deliver high-quality scientific materials in English for clients in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • An ability to communicate scientific materials clearly in both written and oral form.
  • An excellent understanding of and ability to apply scientific concepts.
  • A close attention to detail.
  • An aptitude for and experience of scientific writing which could include dissertations, research summaries, lab reports, poster or oral presentations, peer-reviewed scientific publications, book chapters, grant applications, regulatory documents, and articles for websites or student magazines.
  • A competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • An exceptional level of organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage your time and meet deadlines.

No previous experience in this sector is necessary, but you should display a genuine interest in healthcare and an eagerness to learn about new areas of clinical science.

The Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process includes a written assessment for you to complete in your own time. If successful, you will be invited to an interview which will include a short presentation you can prepare for in advance. Our standard recruitment process lasts around 1 month; however, this is adapted if necessary.

  • A starting salary of S$4,500 per month. This increases to $4,700 for successful candidates who hold a master’s qualification and $5,000 for those with a PhD.
