Job Level & compensation offered may vary depending on candidates' experiences and competencies. Responsibilities:
Perform histological testing encompassing sample accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and re-embedding of tissue specimens.
Perform routine H&E stain, special stains as well as immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in-situ hybridization (ISH) stains according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform slide scanning and macrodissection as required according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Evaluate sample acceptability based on established guidelines and process specimens for analysis in accordance with established written procedures.
Accurately evaluate test results according to standardized protocols.
Maintain quality control measures during testing to ensure compliance with established quality standards. Document corrective and preventative actions with good documentation practices.
Maintain overview of reagent inventory.
Assist in the proper maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment in line with manufacturer specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Participate in internal and external quality assessment as required.
Comply with good laboratory practices for all procedures in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical or biological science from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 2 years of working experience in a clinical histology laboratory will be preferred.
Good analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Able to work independently as well as a good team player with initiative and adaptability to change.
